Day 1 International outbound flight
Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Vientiane.
Day 2 Vientiane
Upon arrival in the Laos capital, Vientiane, you will be collected from the airport and taken to your hotel. The rest of the day will be left free to relax after your flights.
Day 3 Vientiane
Enjoy your first full day in Laos as you join your guide for a half day city tour of the sleepy capital. You will visit a number of the highlights including the National Museum and That Luang, more commonly known as the 'Great Stupa'. In the evening the riverfront in Vientiane comes to life with a number of pop-up markets appearing. You may wish to explore before finding another restaurant for dinner.

Day 4 Luang Prabang
After breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the airport in time for your morning flight to Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang is the jewel of northern Laos and has many attractions to explore during your stay. Your first afternoon is free to relax or explore at your own leisure. The local night market is a nice introduction, bright, colorful and easy to navigate. Here you can find a selection of excellent value souvenirs. The evening is also a great time to try out one of Laos' favorite pastimes 'Laos BBQ'. A short walk down to the riverfront will take you to a selection of local eateries who specialize in 'cook your own BBQ'. Simply choose your ingredients, take a seat and cook your own food. This is an excellent way to interact with the local people and soak up the atmosphere.
Day 5 Luang Prabang
Today you will join your guide for a cycle ride around the UNESCO recognized area of Luang Prabang. This is a quick way to tick off many of the easy to reach highlights. You will stop off at a number of important historical sites where your guide will offer their own take on the shaping of the remarkably preserved city. The afternoon is free to relax or explore at your own leisure.

Day 6 Luang Prabang
An early rise today as you skip breakfast and head out onto the quiet streets of Luang Prabang just as the sun begins to rise. The reason you are up so early is to witness the daily alms giving ceremony where a large number of monks parade the streets around the city. This is an important daily tradition and your guide will take you to the quieter streets in order to get the best experience. Afterwards, you will be driven out of the city to a scenic spot near Kuang Si Falls. Here a picnic breakfast will be waiting for you to enjoy. This afternoon you will journey back into town where you will have the rest of the day to relax or explore at your own leisure.

Day 7 Pakbeng
Time to say goodbye to Luang Prabang and head north along the Mekong on the Luang Say Cruise. This evening you will stop at a small village, Pakbeng, and spend the evening in a charming lodge overlooking the Mekong. Depending on the time of arrival you may have time to wander around the village and witness the local way of life. The lodge restaurant is a wonderful place to spend the evening affording you beautiful views, fully stocked bar and delicious food.
Day 8 Chiang Rai
Continue cruising north towards the Thai border at Huay Xai. Disembark your boat and depart Laos for Thailand. Head to Chiang Rai for a two-night stay. Chiang Rai is a vibrant university town with numerous interesting sights, roadside cafes and charming gardens. This evening you may want to venture to the town's famous clock tower where the local people gather to eat from the street vendors.
Day 9 Chiang Rai
Full day exploring the stunning scenery of northern Thailand, the majestic setting of the Golden Triangle and the infamous opium museum. You will have the chance to stop at various view points affording vistas over three countries: Thailand, Laos, and Burma. Enjoy your last night in Thailand in the comfort of your hotel or pick up some souvenirs at Chiang Rai's night market.
Day 10 International return flight
Arrive home today to complete your journey.
